HRH Princess Marie visits Specialisterne

Nov 29, 2011

In her role as protector, of the national Autistic Society i Denmark, HRH Princess Marie visited Specialisterne, in Ballerup, Monday the 14th of November 2011. The princess got a tour, around the office, at specialisterne, and first stop was the business department. The head of business, Rune Öblom, talked about how the working environment, and the surroundings at Specialisterne, allows each consultant to thrive in a work situation. Afterwards, she went to see the Assestment department (AEA). The leader, Hanne Olorenshaw, talked about the principles behind a good assestmentprogramme, and the people in assestment at Specialisterne. The tour then continued downstairs in the school, the STU. Principal, Frank Paulsen, told the princess about a new cooperation, with Dampskibsselskabet Norden A/S, regarding the creation of the new, IT support assistant, training. Princess Marie, who is seventh months pregnant, warmly greeted all the employees, and also took the time to talk, with the young people, about their lives with autism, training, and thoughts about their life in general.

“It has been a wonderful, and very interesting visit. It is a fantastic concept because many with autism have some unique skills, and strengths that they can really use in a business, and getting a job makes people with autism feel as they are part of society, as well”, said Princess Marie, after the visit (quote Billedbladet 17/11 Trine Larsen).
